- Welcome to the Health Center website!
- It is my goal to make this a communication tool for your use. I will do my best to keep it current.
- Student illness; Please keep your child home from school with a fever 100* or greater. Students may return to school with a temperature less than 100* (without the use of Ibuprofen or Tylenol)--only if the child is fever-free for 24hours. Please indicate on the attendance line if you child is home sick with a fever.
- Teach your child to: Cover their cough with the inside of their elbow, Wash hands frequently and Do not come to school sick.
- Current Immunization Information for 2010-2011 School Year can be found at the Arizona Department of Health Services website. Click on the immunization link below to find many free and for-a-fee options for you to keep your child current on these State of Arizona guidelines. Please fax immunization records along with any updates to the Health Office at (480) 484-1590.
- If your child needs to take any medication during the school day, parents/guardians must complete and sign a Medication Administration Record permission form (Medication Permission Form). All medication must be in the original pharmacy bottle with the dosage and instructions clearly written on the prescription label.
- There has been a change in Scottsdale Unified School District guidelines regarding the over-the-counter medication that is given out in our school Health Centers. Previously, the consent to give medication was on the back of your student's emergency card. It gave our school nurses the option of administering a limited amount of over-the counter medications (like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, Antibacterial Ointment, Calydryl etc.). This has changed. We now need you to complete a Medication Administration Record permission form (Medication Permission Form). Also, you must provide the specific, age-appropriate medication (as listed on the medication label) and it must be in an original, sealed container before any over-the-counter medication will be given to your child. Medication Permission Forms can be downloaded from this website under our Medication Policy and submitted to the Health Office. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you or your student, but this new guideline is in the best (and safest) interest of all our students. Please feel free to call the school nurse or stop by the Health Center for more information or to provide the proper medication and documentation for your student.
- The goal in the Health Center is to maintain a healthy school environment here at Copper Ridge.
